We provide the most up to date and effective therapy because our clinicians are highly trained in relationship issues as well as sexuality, orientation and gender issues should you need it. At Respark Therapy, we commit to a judgment-free, compassionate and authentic relationship with you through every twist and turn of your journey.

Online therapy and coaching can also serve as an addition to in-person therapy for those that travel often or get stuck in rush hour too often. Clients that reside in either Texas or Colorado are specifically eligible for online therapy. Outside those states? Check out our coaching section.

Most therapists have little to no training in sexuality.

Even couple’s therapists often don’t receive education around sexuality issues and the most common issues a couple’s therapist sees is about sexuality.

Choose a highly trained couples therapist and sex therapist that is AASECT Certified or working toward SHA certification.

At Respark, all our therapists receive 200+ hours in sex therapy with training in couples therapy issues from one of the biggest comprehensive training programs in the world, Sexual Health Alliance. Additionally, many Respark therapists have done post-graduate training in couples therapy.

Choose a highly specialized therapist with even more training and supervision.

Many of Respark Therapists have additional highly specialized certifications including year-long training programs in Kink Informed Certification, Problem Sexual Behavior Certified ("Sex Addiction”), Open/Poly Certified and other critical issues related to relationships and sexual health.

When you see a Respark therapist, you know that your therapist has the most up to date information and specialized training to help you create the life you want that sparks joy.

WHAT IS AN EATING DISORDER?

Eating Disorders (including, but not limited to, Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder, “Orthorexia”, OSFED) are serious mental illnesses that are symptomatically described by extreme concerns about body weight, body shape, eating/diet, and body image which can lead to patterns of disordered eating and utilization of unhealthy behaviors.

Some of these behaviors may include (but are unique to each individual case):

  • Restricting/monitoring food intake
  • Eating an exceptionally large quantity of food at once (bingeing)
  • Fasting
  • Counting calories in a strict manner
  • Avoiding social events that involve food
  • Vomiting (purging)
  • Misuse of laxatives
  • Excessive or compulsive exercise; compensatory exercise

Eating Disorder behaviors can significantly affect a person’s physical, psychological, and social functioning and well-being. We know the importance of having a supportive source of Eating Disorder Therapy located near you in Colorado.

Eating Disorders are not a choice. These mental illnesses do not discriminate based upon race, gender, age, religion, or body type, nor do they manifest the same way in everyone.  They are serious mental illnesses that have the highest mortality rate (from suicide and medical complications) of any other mental illness/disorder.

Relapse prevention-based therapy focuses on assisting and supporting clients while they learn and practice the skills necessary to remain healthy and recovery-focused.  Whether you have stepped down from a more intensive level of care and need ongoing outpatient support, or you are worried that you may be slipping into engaging in past Eating Disorder behaviors and patterns, we can help.

A study published in 2018 by the Trevor Project reports that approximately 54% of the 1,034 LGBTQ+ survey participants between the ages of 13 and 24 are struggling and have been diagnosed with an Eating Disorder. 75% of them having presumed that they struggled with an Eating Disorder throughout their lifetime.  At Respark Therapy & Associates, we strive to create a safe and trustworthy space for you to feel understood and validated as you share your experiences. Recovery is possible – and you are worth it.
