Katie Green’s Favorite Part about Telehealth Therapy

Katie Green, one of our fabulous Texas therapists, recently discussed her most favorite things about working with clients through online therapy. Online therapy isn’t always ideal in everyone’s minds, but through the seasons of this pandemic Katie has found some serious silver linings.

Katie enjoys having a window into my clients’ home environments, meeting their pets, and seeing their aesthetic. She says, “It’s a different kind of intimacy to be in each other’s spaces, rather than a neutral shared space. I’ve spoken to more than one client from the privacy of their closet. We’re all just trying to find privacy where we can these days.”

Katie has found that the most surprising thing about teletherapy is that it doesn’t feel very different from in-person therapy. She truly hasn’t noticed an impact in her ability to establish rapport or emotionally attune with her clients. At this point, Katie has only met two of her current clients in person, which she says is strange to think about. Katie plans to continue online therapy with as many clients who prefer it post-pandemic.
