This group is for parents with minor children who struggle with and /or want to talk to their children about sex, sexual health, and sexuality.. In this group, parents will learn how to talk to their children about sex, regardless of their age, as well as process their own emotions around talking about all things sex. The group will provide a safe space for parents to share about this common parenting struggle. Come explore the possibility of open dialogue with your children, let go of shame and embarrassment, and learn a sex-positive approach to talking to children.
What this Group Will Cover
- Emotionally preparing parents for their children to eventually become sexually active
- Helping parents navigate the conversation about consent
- Helping parents cover the gaps left by school sex education
- Helping parents cope and navigate their own emotional or mental blocks related to talking about sexuality, sex, and intimacy
- Provide parents with evidence-based sex education, information, and data
- Providing resources that are inclusive to gender identity, sexual orientation and non-heteronormative relationships
- Helping parents navigate conversations related to cultural messages, influences, and standards such as slut-shaming and rape culture
